All Roads Lead to Shreveport: G-Unit’s $124 Million Entertainment Investment Signals a New Era Downtown

Downtown Shreveport is stepping into the spotlight—and this time, the cameras are staying.

G-Unit Film & Television Louisiana, LLC, owned by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, has finalized an agreement with the State of Louisiana that could reshape the region’s entertainment economy for decades. The multi-phase project represents an investment of more than $124 million and focuses on transforming long-dormant properties into thriving, modern entertainment destinations right in the heart of Shreveport.

And the projected impact? It’s blockbuster-level.

A Project with Statewide Reach—and Local Roots

According to an independent economic impact study commissioned by G-Unit, the redevelopment is expected to generate $18.8 billion in economic impact, support more than 6,000 jobs statewide, and deliver $300 million in wages over the next 20 years.

That’s not just a win for Shreveport—it’s a win for Northwest Louisiana and the entire state.

Governor Jeff Landry praised the announcement, pointing to the region’s growing momentum and Louisiana’s increasingly competitive business environment. In short: projects like this don’t happen by accident—they happen when opportunity meets preparation.

Three Major Projects, One Big Vision

The initiative centers on three major entertainment-focused developments, all located in downtown Shreveport:

  • Renovation of the former Stageworks facility to support live events and production uses

  • Modernization of the Millennium Studios campus, upgrading production capabilities for film, television, and digital media

  • Construction of a dome-style immersive venue and green space park, designed to host large-scale entertainment and community events

Together, these projects aim to elevate Shreveport’s ability to host film and television productions, live performances, and immersive entertainment experiences—while driving tourism and bringing new life to existing assets.

“All Roads Lead to Shreveport”

For Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, this project is deeply personal—and long-term.

“This project is the realization of the long-term commitment I have made to the City of Shreveport and the State of Louisiana,” Jackson said. “By reinvesting in downtown Shreveport and upgrading existing assets to create state-of-the-art entertainment and production facilities, we are creating jobs, inspiring hope, attracting new productions, and giving the entire entertainment industry a reason to build their futures right here.”

His vision? Turning Northwest Louisiana into a premier national destination for film, music, and live entertainment.

His tagline says it all: All Roads Lead to Shreveport.

State Support with Accountability Built In

Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is backing the project through a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement that provides up to $50 million in performance-based funding. That support is tied directly to measurable outcomes—economic impact, infrastructure improvements, and engagement with local businesses.

To ensure transparency and oversight, the Shreveport Film & Entertainment Economic Development Corporation was created to work alongside LED. Its board includes state and local leaders representing both the executive and legislative branches.

LED Secretary Susan B. Bourgeois emphasized that revitalizing these facilities will strengthen Louisiana’s entertainment industry while opening new doors for talent, investment, and job creation across the region.

Why This Matters for Shreveport

This announcement isn’t just about studios and soundstages—it’s about momentum.

It’s about downtown buildings coming back to life, creative professionals choosing to stay (or move) here, and Shreveport reclaiming its place as a serious player in the entertainment economy. It’s about jobs, infrastructure, tourism, and pride in a city that’s ready for its next chapter.

Lights on. Cameras rolling. Shreveport’s encore is just getting started.
