Chop Shop Shreveport: A Local Favorite That Just Keeps Getting Better
If you’ve lived in Shreveport for any amount of time, chances are you’ve heard of — or shopped at — Chop Shop. Tucked away in our community, this locally loved butcher shop has built a loyal following by doing one thing exceptionally well: quality.
Chop Shop isn’t just a meat counter. It’s Shreveport’s one-stop butcher shop for premium cuts, house-made sausages, specialty spices, prepared meals, and everything you didn’t know you needed for your next cookout. Whether you’re planning a backyard steak night or just want something better than the grocery store basics, this is the place.
A Butcher Shop… With Lunch?
Here’s the part I somehow missed for way too long: they have a limited lunch menu.
And yes — I had to try it.
I ordered the smash burger with beef tallow–fried potato chips.
Let me just say this clearly:
Can you say delicious?
The burger had that perfectly crisped edge you only get from a proper smash technique — flavorful, juicy, and cooked just right. The sesame seed bun held everything together without overpowering the meat. And those chips? Fried in beef tallow. Crispy, rich, and absolutely next level.
It’s the kind of meal that makes you lean back in your chair halfway through and think, “Yep. This was the right decision.”
By the time I finished?
Fat & happy. Must take nap now.
The Atmosphere
The shop itself has that clean, modern-but-welcoming feel. A bright front entrance, brick walkway, simple interior layout, and a display case full of beautiful cuts. You can tell this is a place that takes pride in what they do. No frills — just quality.
It’s local. It’s authentic. And it feels like Shreveport.
Why Chop Shop Works
In a world of big-box grocery stores and chain restaurants, Chop Shop stands out because it specializes. They know meat. They know flavor. And they clearly care about sourcing and preparation.
Now that I know about the lunch menu, it’s officially added to my rotation. It’s the perfect quick stop when you want something better than fast food but still casual and easy.
